A little late with the update, but festivities have been occupying my time. The belt has changed hands again!
The triad of Sr., DC & Matty all had moments of greatness. However, could not handle the chirps and pressure of playing together. Chip ins & bank shot birdies were not good enough. Tough to overcome triples and quads, even "birdie man" Sr. Could only post a 38. Matty and DC were very disappointed with their performance. Matty stated, "you have to be able to break 40 on this course, anything else is a disappointment.
Disappointing indeed, as Jr was a few holes behind hiding in a group of friends. A good move to play with cheerleaders and avoid the chirps. A side game seemed to help Jr. stay focused, and even recover a UGLY 9th hole tee shot. A great recover shot and two putts locked up the belt, and shut the door for Sr who was prepared to return for a playoff.
Congrats on your 37 Jr., hope you get to defend the belt and take a few chirps soon.
